Late October, Hotec held a fantastic and memorable team building tour, leading all team members to explore the stunning natural scenery of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - Enchanting Heights and Ethereal Pillars
Nestled in the northwestern part of Hunan province in China, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park stands as a testament to the surreal beauty and breathtaking landscapes that Mother Nature can craft. Renowned for its towering sandstone pillars, lush greenery, and deep valleys, this UNESCO World Heritage Site has earned global recognition for its unique and otherworldly vistas.
Tianzi Mountain:
Our adventure began with Tianzi Mountain, offering dynamic tapestry of landscapes, from narrow trails winding through thick foliage to expansive viewpoints overlooking the surreal pillar formations, where we were surprised by the sea of clouds. The "First Bridge Under Heaven" and the "Imperial Writing Brush Peaks" were standout features, each telling a story of ancient legends and natural wonders.
Avatar Hallelujah Mountains:
Stepping into iconic Avatar Hallelujah Mountains, the towering sandstone pillars that inspired the fantastical landscapes of James Cameron's "Avatar", transporting us into the fantastical world of Pandora. Be prepared to be awestruck as we navigated the narrow trails and witnessed these majestic formations rising from the mist-covered valleys.
Bailong Elevator:
Descending the Bailong Elevator, the world's highest outdoor elevator, was an adventure in itself. The panoramic views of the forested peaks and deep valleys unfolded like a living canvas. It provided a thrilling preview of the natural wonders awaiting exploration within the heart of the park.
Golden Whip Stream:
A tranquil interlude awaited at the Golden Whip Stream, where the crystal-clear water meandered through the forested canyon. The peaceful stroll along the banks allowed us to absorb the serenity of the surroundings, with the towering pillars casting their reflections on the water's surface.

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain is a symphony of natural beauty and daring feats. The journey began with a scenic cable car ride, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. As we ascended, the towering peaks of the karst mountains emerged like giants from the mist, creating a surreal and almost otherworldly atmosphere.
The thrill continued with the cliffside glass walkway, known as the "Coiled Dragon Cliff." Walking on a transparent pathway suspended high above the abyss was an exhilarating experience, offering unmatched views of the deep valleys below. For adrenaline seekers, the heart-pounding Tianmen Skywalk provides a unique opportunity to dangle over the edge of the mountain and feel the rush of pure excitement.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the famous Tianmen Cave, a natural archway that has earned the mountain its nickname, "Heaven's Gate", where we felt a sense of wonder and amazement at the forces of nature that had sculpted such a magnificent spectacle. If you're feeling particularly daring, consider the thrill of wing-suiting amidst the breathtaking landscapes.
At the heart of Tianmen Mountain's allure stands 999 Steps to Heaven, one of the ways to Tianmen Cave. The 999 steps on this staircase, divided into nine parts, range from easy to difficult, with the first five being the most manageable. Climbing down the steps, keep an eye out for the platforms depicting the five blessings venerated in Chinese culture: prosperity, happiness, long life, power, and luck.
